Fishing in the Clarion River near MacBeth's Cabins

The Wild and Scenic Designated Clarion River (one of only two rivers in Pennsylvania so designated) offers trout, bass, catfish, perch and numerous other freshwater fish.  Since MacBeth's is located right on the Clarion River, fishing can be as convenient as your back yard.  In fact, nearly the entire 45 miles of the Clarion is very easily accessible by roads.

Years ago, the Clarion River was not the great fishing river that it is today.  To learn more about fishing on the Clarion, download this Fly Fisherman magazine article that details the history of the Clarion River and how the quality of fishing here is now a "best kept secret."

Kinzua Dam is also located within about one hour of MacBeth's Cabins and coincidentally home to the other Wild and Scenic Designated Allegheny River, home to trout, wallaye, muskies, and a variety of other fish.

The numerous streams in our area are all well stocked.  Within walking distance of MacBeth's is Tom's Run (stocked with trout) and a special fishing pond stocked with trout by the park office available for use by children 12 and younger and people with a disability. A level grass bank at the edge of the pond provides easy access.
